Today is National Public Lands Day.  NPLD is the nation’s largest hands-on volunteer effort to improve and enhance the public lands Americans enjoy.

Millions travel to our national forests, parks, and wilderness areas each year, and today is a day to give back. Thousands of volunteers coast to coast will put their hands to work today to improve and enhance our treasured lands. Volunteers build bridges and trails, improve habitat for wildlife, plant trees, remove invasive plants that threaten native plants, protect natural, historic and cultural resources, and much more.
